Overview

Midori Coffee Farm is a small-scale farm established in May 2017, because of the belief that Nature is the key to Sustainable Development. Here we farm organically under the forest canopy and produce coffee according to high quality standards. We want to use our forest garden coffee to contribute to society and spread our coffee ecosystem beliefs around the world. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about coffee and wish to improve their knowledge and understanding of coffee, nature and Vietnamese culture. Our program offers a unique opportunity to connect with people from around the world, to gain cross-cultural experiences and build meaningful relationships.

While studying at Midori, you can learn about harvesting, processing, roasting, brewing and basic coffee chemistry and vegetable farming. Midori's internship program offers a unique experience, allowing you to follow the coffee production process from farm to cup. You will have the opportunity to interact with our staff, Vietnamese farmers and local community members. You will experience Vietnamese culture firsthand through events, social interactions, and daily life. We offer a modified internship program.
 

What we will do

Daily schedules depend on the seasons. A typical day may include growing, packing, processing coffee, organizing a coffee tour, or other related activities. You can also contribute your own skills through individual and group tasks and projects. However, your itinerary will include regular contact with Midori staff, who will provide guidance and access to relevant resources. Midori interns will be expected to participate in the following tasks:

• Coffee tours
• Coffee care (weeding coffee roots, pruning branches, harvesting, and pre-processing coffee depending on the time of year)
• Coffee packaging
• Community events
• Social media and promotion
• Interact with local media
• Website content
• Program management
• Hospitality towards customers and guests
• Household maintenance

Internship period and application deadline

Applicants who pass the application review stage will be invited to an interview via Google Meet after the application deadline. You can expect to know the results within a month after the application deadline.Travel Insurance
It is a requirement to have travel insurance upon arrival. We advise you to look into options independently, to find the level of insurance that suits you. You must be covered for the duration of your stay.

What you need to bring

PC (required for project work), Farming clothes, Rain and waterproof gear, Towels, Toiletries *
Please note that you will have to bring your PC to work on the project and make sure it has enough space since we use several cloud services (goodle calendar, google drive, Asana, etc. ) for schedule management and project management.

Space at

Accommodation is provided without shared spaces, shared kitchen and bedrooms. Futons, mattresses, bed linen and bed linens are provided in each bedroom. You will live in a single or double room and must be available to share with another Midori living room. The house has three toilets and three bathrooms shared by all farm members and guests.

Cost

• The rental price will be 5,000,000 VND/month
• 1 month's rent (5,000,000 VND) must be paid via Card Payment as a pre-arrival expense program.
• Rent will also include Water Bottle and basic amenities.
• There are two small grocery stores in town, a short walk (1.5km) away. Food can range from 100,000 VND - 200,000 VND per week depending on your diet.
• Travel to and from Ho Chi Minh to Da Lat (20km from Midori) will range from 400,000 - 700,000 VND

Living and working in a small town in Dalat can be very different from what you are used to. If you cannot speak Vietnamese, you will encounter a language barrier
Ask for clarity and understanding. If you want to work in the fields, you must be physically capable and understand that conditions may be more comfortable (culinary weather in summer, heavy machinery, wild animals, etc.). By completing this application, you are quickly conveying these elements of your experience and validating that you are suitable and capable for the job.
